Marbelle diatomite faucet mat, two halves joined with the circular opening for the tap in the middle

Marbelle — Fast-Drying Diatomite Faucet Mat

$39.99

The counter behind your faucet is wet again. It has been wet since this morning, and you have already wiped it twice.

This mat sits right under the tap and drinks the water up. Splashes land on it and disappear — no puddle, no ring of limescale, no cloth in your hand five times a day.

It comes in two halves

Each half has a semicircle cut into its inner edge. Slide them in from either side and the two cut-outs close around the base of your tap, forming a neat round opening. No lifting the faucet, no measuring, no gap left behind.

How it works

Diatomite is a natural porous stone. It pulls water in on contact and releases it slowly into the air, so the surface goes dry on its own within minutes. No wringing, no damp towel smell.

  • Two pieces, one round opening: they close around the faucet base so the mat sits flush against the sink.
  • Absorbs on contact: splashes vanish instead of sitting on the stone.
  • Dries itself: the water evaporates away and the mat is ready again in minutes.
  • Keeps damp away: a dry counter means no dark ring building up around the faucet base.
  • Doubles as a tray: soap, a toothbrush cup or a diffuser all stay dry on top of it.
  • Three finishes: light, medium and dark grey, with a ribbed arc pattern.

Wipe it with a damp cloth when it needs it. If it ever slows down, let it air out in the sun and it absorbs like new.

How it works

Stone that behaves like a sponge.

01

It drinks the water

Diatomite is a natural porous stone. Splashes are pulled in the instant they land, so nothing sits on the surface.

02

Then it dries itself

The water it absorbed evaporates slowly back into the air. Within minutes the stone is dry and ready again. No wringing, no damp towel smell.

03

And it fits your tap

The notch on the edge slides in behind the faucet base and the handles, so the mat sits flat against the sink instead of floating in the middle of the counter.

Where it goes

Two sinks, one problem, one fix.

Anywhere a tap splashes, this belongs underneath it.

In the bathroom
01

In the bathroom

No more ring of damp around the tap, and no more wiping before guests arrive.

In the kitchen
02

In the kitchen

Catches the splash-back from the sink and keeps the soap dispenser dry.

Why it works

Small object. Daily annoyance, gone.

Absorbs on contact

Splashes disappear into the stone instead of pooling on your counter.

Dries itself

The water evaporates away on its own. Ready to use again in minutes.

Natural stone

Diatomite, not plastic or rubber. Matte finish with a ribbed arc pattern.

Shaped to fit

The notched edge slides in behind the faucet base so it sits flat.

Doubles as a tray

Soap, a toothbrush cup or a diffuser all stay dry on top of it.

Keeps damp away

A dry counter means no dark ring building up around the tap.

A natural porous stone formed from fossilised algae. It is full of microscopic holes, which is why it pulls water in on contact and then lets it evaporate back out.
It is designed to dry itself out, which is exactly what stops mould forming. Let it air out and wipe it down now and then, and it stays clean.
The notch on the long edge is cut to slide in around a standard faucet base. Measure the strip behind your tap before ordering if your sink is unusually shallow.
Wipe it with a damp cloth. If it ever starts absorbing more slowly, leave it to air out in the sun for a few hours and it works like new.
It is stone, so treat it like stone: don't drop it and don't bend it. In normal use on a flat counter it lasts for years.
